Are you living a purposeful life? Are you living your best life now? These are some important questions to ponder daily. Are you driven by something: a problem, the past, guilt, need of approval, fear, or success? We all have been driven by something whether good or bad. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (AMP) says “To everything there is a season, and a time for everything or PURPOSE under heaven”.
This scripture is saying that everything has a time and place. Anything that God created, which includes us, has a purpose. When God created us, he gave us the command to “Be fertile, increase in number, fill the earth, and be its master. Rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that crawl on the earth” according to Genesis 1:28. He has blessed us and in return we should be fruitful (successful), and multiply.
Jesus said to go forth and do that to replenish the earth as people die. He gave man dominion (authority) of the fish and animals to have an ample supply of food or substance. That means we can use the animals as we need to, but it doesn’t promote senseless killing if not for food. When the world was created there was plenty to sustain us. God saw to that.
While it’s true some people seem to find life’s purpose easier than others, it’s also true that God really does have a plan for every single person, even if it takes a while to see what it is. Without a purpose, life is motion without meaning, activity without direction, and events without reason.
When you know your purpose, it gives great meaning to your life. When you know why you are here, you know there is a destiny that has to be fulfilled. Without God, life has no purpose and without purpose, life has no meaning.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out – plans to take care of you, not to abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” Now that right there is telling you God had, and still has, plans for you to live a successful and prosperous life.
So ask yourself this question “Why am I here”? And if you can answer the question quickly, with this statement, “I have a purpose, God has a plan destined for me, and I’m living my life on purpose!” Then, you are on the right track!
